Training and readiness for crisis response
We are six dedicated high school students and members of HOSA MRC, passionate about making a difference in emergency preparedness and community health. As part of our mission, we proudly partner with the Washtenaw Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to support public health initiatives, promote medical readiness, and assist in emergency response efforts. Through education, outreach, and hands-on experience, we strive to create a healthier, more resilient community.
We believe that young leaders can make a real impact in public health. Together, we are committed to learning, serving, and improving community preparedness.
Cancer Presentation
We visited East Middle School to deliver a presentation on cancer awareness. The session focused on educating students about the types of cancer, preventive measures, and the importance of early detection.
Stop the Bleed
With help from the MRC, we hosted a training session at our school to teach life-saving techniques for controlling severe bleeding to members of our HOSA chapter.
Cards for Firefighters
Our team created personalized thank-you cards for local firefighters to express appreciation for their service.
Stomach Cancer Awareness Ribbons
We created and distributed awareness ribbons to spread knowledge about stomach cancer. This initiative encouraged conversations around early detection and showed solidarity with those affected by the disease.
